When you shoot in a Creative Zone shooting mode (P, Tv, Av, or M), you can precisely control exposure, color, focus, and more. But if you’re not ready to dig into those advanced shooting modes, take advantage of the Basic Zone modes explored in this chapter: Scene Intelligent Auto (A+) and SCN (Scene). In these modes, the camera provides almost fully automatic photography.
This chapter shows you how to achieve the best results in A+ and Scene modes, walking you through your first shots and explaining features that give you a little control over your results. For information about the other Basic Zone modes — Creative Filters and Hybrid Auto — check out Chapter 12.
Using Scene Intelligent Auto Mode (A+)
