The power of partnership true for both individual industries and whole industries. Consider the pharmaceutical industry. New drugs must go through extensive clinical trials in which they are tested on thousands of people before they ever go to market. Drug companies do not test medicines on a single patient and say, “It worked! Start up the factory, roll out the machines!” Thousands of people work on trial drugs before they can go to market. This is not limited to medicine, but is also true in every business. All products have to be tested by the public before they can go to market. Business professionals depend upon their colleagues and their customers to make money.

It is this community process by which people make money. What businesses make their money in is less important to success than the principles that get them there. Larry Ellison, who is Jewish, by the way, became enormously wealthy by starting Oracle in Redwood City, California, but that doesn't mean that you should move to Northern California's Bay Area to try your hand at designing and selling software for customer relations management, as he did.
