Matrix and Its Applications to Business
15.1 INTRODUCTION
This matrix theory was developed and introduced by British mathematician Arthur Caley in 1857.
15.2 DEFINITIONS AND NOTATIONS
In this section we are going to see variables definitions related to different form of matrix.
15.2.1 Matrix
An arrangement of numbers in the form of rows and columns is called MATRIX denoted by the capital alphabets like A, B, C etc.
Note: The numbers used in the matrix can be a real value or complex value, i.e., A = [aij]m × n where aij refers to the element which lies at the intersection of ith row and jth column.
