For years I’ve taught a class on “Surviving & Thriving with Difficult People.” Over the years, participants have brought in stories of many kinds of “difficult people.” Sometimes we’re related to them by family or by marriage. There are people who keep us steady and others who drive us bonkers and drain our energy. Too much energy drain caused by relationships can lead to the start of burnout. We carry people with us, just as we bring passengers on a sailboat.
