Chapter 2. The Core and More
In this chapter, we’ll take a closer look at the Power Platform apps and the AI-based apps and features that we can use to create intelligent business applications.
Power Apps
When you want to build an app or a solution, like a web app or a mobile app, Power Apps is where you will begin. Power Apps, seen in Figure 2-1, allows you to create custom forms where you can create, view, edit, and delete content.
We’ll dive into the different types of apps that you can create later, and you’ll learn how to create forms that will allow you to read or save data and perform a variety of other actions. If the app needs to live on a web page or be viewed from a mobile device, Power Apps has you covered. If you’ve been following along closely, you’ll know that the next thing I’m going to say is that you don’t need to be a web developer or a mobile developer to get started!
Power Automate
Power Automate (Figure 2-2) allows you to build workflows or automated business processes for your organization. The goal is typically to perform a set of predefined steps that are repeatable, such as an approval workflow where someone receives some type of notification to perform a task like reviewing and approving a document.
