The Omnilander is equipped with special hardware that allows it to climb up some vertical obstacles, such as a small box. There are mechanisms in the front and back that lift the robot up and onto the obstacle:
The entire climbing mechanism is powered by one EV3 medium motor, plugged into port A. The motor routes its power through a long drive shaft that runs along the length of the robot:
The drive shaft delivers the motor's power to the worm gear mechanism in the front of the robot and the jack in the rear.
