In previous editions of this book, we’d be looking at how to implement a blog on the site that we’re working through by this stage. But since the second edition, our chosen method of updating the site with a blog changed drastically.[16] So drastically, in fact, that it was only possible to add a blog by doing either of the following:

  • hosting the blog separately from the main pages on your site (which would make it look different, or take great effort to have it look the same, resulting in lots of duplicated work)[17]

  • installing and customizing your own blogging software (such as Wordpress), which is no easy feat for a beginner
