CHAPTER 6Exploring Multicolor LEDs:Color-Changing Light Box
THE PROJECTS IN THE PRECEDING CHAPTERS INVOLVED only single-color LEDs, either red or white. This chapter shows you how to add variety to the colors you use in your projects. There are three primary types of LED available that contain more than one color in a single device. These multicolor LEDs are quite flexible and will allow you to create some interesting effects in your projects. This chapter first explores each of these types of LED and then shows you how to build a color-changing light box similar to the one shown in Figure 6-1. This can be used, for example, as mood lighting or to provide a mini-disco lighting effect.
