Rotating around the 3D Cursor

As I took a closer look at my hand, I found that I had inadvertently created the thumb at an unintended angle. It was sticking up above the rest of the fingers:

I could adjust all the edges and vertices manually, but I am happy with the current shape. I just want to rotate everything I already have. Blender allows us to do that, by giving us the power to change our Pivot Point. The steps I take to adjust my thumb are as follows:

  1. In Edit Mode, switch to Vertex Select mode and turn off Limit selection to visible. Select all the vertices you wish to rotate. In my case, I use Select | Border Select ...
