Another option is to select all the edges around the wrist and set the Mean Crease property to 1.00. The Mean Crease setting can be found in the Properties Shelf under Transform in the Edges Data section. Changes to the Mean Crease will export to both STL and X3D (a 3D printing file format that saves color information). In the following screenshot, you can see the impact of moving the Mean Crease from 0.00 to 1.00:
