Soft Computing Applications in Robot Vision
Abstract
Chapter 4 presents an application of soft computing algorithms, such as PSO, to solve important computer vision problems, like image tracking, and plane detection. These problems are very important since they can be used to perform more complex tasks, for example grasping, robot navigation for detection of obstacles, and mapping. The presented image-tracking algorithm herein is capable of working with large images, given the use of an image pyramid search, and PSO, for looking for the best template match, which improves the speed of the template search.
