Film production is a battlefield. There’s no coincidence that the structure of a film crew is very militaristic in nature. Our schedules, battle plans, the way we move in convoy-fashion, the trials and tribulations of each day on set—overcoming great obstacles to create the art of the final project: these are the battles we fight in the production trenches. My boots are caked with dirt of more than 25 years of production—and I have the battle scars and battle stories to prove it.
