Ship Collisions and Failing Funnels
Late in the day, Terri, who looked after our shipping, came hustling up to me.
“I couldn’t find anyone else to help me,” she started. Gil, her boss, had already gone for the day. She had a fellow from Stupendous Gifts on the line, “angrier than a nest of riled up hornets,” she related. They had received our last shipment and they weren’t happy. “They want to know what we plan to do,” she concluded.
I still wasn’t clear what the problem was. “Is Julie around?” I asked. I was going to handle the situation but normally shipping wasn’t part of my area of responsibility, and I didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes.
“You’re the only one in management I could find,” Terri responded.
