Exercising Authority
It took me three months to realize I had no effect on many of my people. It was like I had been talking to myself.
The new managers had to learn how to exercise their newly acquired authority. Ironically, to do so required that they develop the capacity to exercise power and influence effectively without relying simply on their formal authority or power of position. More specifically, they had to learn how to
