Preface
The seeds for Beating the Odds were planted in 2015, when we (Patty and Kelly) met during our first few weeks in our new jobs with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). As Kelly was preparing to speak at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Women in Engineering (WIE) conference for the 3rd time, we found ourselves evolving a brainstorming of ideas based on our experience regarding the challenges of women in engineering. We started the conversation that turned into a journey about how we at the Center for Creative Leadership could support technical women, such as those at the conference, as they faced similar challenges.
