Planning Adaptively

One primary difference between traditional (plan-driven, predictive) project management and agile (change-driven, adaptive) project management is that instead of planning most of the project before most of the work is started, in agile, only enough planning is performed at the outset, so the team can get started. Altogether, agile often has at least as much planning as the traditional approach and perhaps even more. However, the planning occurs adaptively in many little sessions rather than one big one.
