We give instructions and data to computers. The computer uses the instructions as computer programs to process the data to produce results, which are known as output. The results may be of various forms, sound, text and diagrams, data for external storage, messages to control equipment or to send or receive emails and access the internet. They may be dynamic images, visible on a computer screen, or static, such as those produced by a printer.
