Figure ay is the curve y = ay times sine of, b times x plus c, c > 0, with amplitude ay, period 2 pi over b, and zeros at negative c over b and negative c over b plus 2 pi over b. Figure b is the curve y = ay times sine of, b times x plus c, c < 0. The amplitude, period, and zeros are the same. The zero negative c over b is on the negative x-axis in figure ay, but it is on the positive x-axis in figure b.
