Crossing the line
The best known mistake, and one of the easiest to prevent in a multicamera studio, is crossing the line.
Suppose we have two people talking to each other and you’ve placed the cameras as in the diagram. If we tried to cut the pictures together It would look like they are ignoring each other and speaking to outer space.
The line
There is an imaginary line that runs from the eyes of one person to the eyes of the other. This line extends to infinity in both directions.
If you keep all your cameras on the same side of the line you will not be crossing the line, and the shots will cut together.
