Questions that begin with when, where, and who?
If you ask someone a question that begins with when, you will initiate a one-word answer. The same holds true for where and who questions. But, if you ask a why or a how or a what question, you will initiate a fuller response. If you ask, does your company offer paternity leave, you will create a one-word response.
