Before you make a request, it’s normal to experience an adrenaline rush, similar to the nervous feeling you get just before you stand up to speak in front of an audience. When you get into a situation that excites you, your brain signals your adrenal glands to produce extra adrenaline. If you’re not expecting that surge of power, the energy can throw you off.
The pressure and even anticipation of making a request can change how you process information or communicate. You can plan for the worst, hope for the best, and tell yourself to stay calm.
