Chapter 7. Diving Deeper: Using Azure AI Services

Microsoft is making considerable investments in artificial intelligence and business solutions. AI is one of the building blocks of the future, along with mixed reality, quantum computing, and blockchain.

All of these technologies, however, are data hungry. As a consequence, organizations are moving toward an intelligent data platform and therefore will need to consider better ways of handling their data. They may need to design and implement a data modernization strategy, which could mean upgrading on-premises estates, planning hybrid estates, or becoming cloud-first such that the organization prioritizes storing new data only in the cloud. As businesses expand to 24-hour global operations, they will need to consider how to manage and monitor globally distributed datasets while offering cloud-scale analytics to ensure that they are making the right decisions at the speed of the global customer.

Businesses also need to trust the results of these technologies, and data visualization is one crucial way of helping companies to make data-based and AI-based decisions. Power BI can build trust in the data and AI operations.
