In a typical post-production workflow, ingest is the first step. You need to acquire your files before you can have Final Cut Server discover and manage them. This lesson takes you through the process of acquiring your assets using Final Cut Pro and having Final Cut Server catalog those assets.
There are two main methods for cataloging FCP assets using Final Cut Server: scan and upload. Both of them have advantages and disadvantages, but choosing between them really comes down to what works best in your workflow.
