Chapter 3
Developing for Android Tablets
In This Chapter
- Understanding the Android development process
- Avoiding development gotchas
- Exploring Android programming basics
- Getting users' attention
Developing for Android tablets is the next wave of application development. The form factor of the tablet allows users of your application to interact with a wider feature set than was possible with a phone application. The larger surface screen is optimal for reading, displaying complex charts and data points, as well as watching movies while on the train on the way home from work. Overall, experiencing an app on a tablet is much smoother, end-to-end, than doing so on a phone.
The Android tablet development process is not much different than developing for the phone, but each development environment does have its own set of gotchas to look out for. The basics of the development process remain much the same. By the end of this chapter, you'll have an application you can publish to the Android Market.
