Testing is one of the most important phases of the application development cycle. The Android SDK provides a powerful test framework for defining and running a variety of tests to validate different aspects of Android applications. The Android test framework is built on top of the popular JUnit test framework. The Android test framework extends JUnit by incorporating Android-specific instrumentation functionality to allow tests to control the environment surrounding the Android applications.
