One of the rewards of writing a technical book is to see the finished book on the reference shelf or in the library of colleagues. It is even better to see smudges on the pages, dog-ears, or page markers, thus indicating that the book had been used…perhaps multiple times. The Second Edition has found its way onto the shelves of many air pollution control professionals and its content has been put to use. For that, this writer is exceedingly grateful. In addition, the book has been used as an educational tool for those interested in the control of air pollutants. Favorable comments include that it is “easy to read”.
