Chapter 8. Projects
The avant-garde of the software community has already moved beyond traditional projects. A popular example is that of Spotify, as described in Section 5.4.2. But even a survey conducted by Forrester1 in 2009 showed that leaders in application development were selectively moving from a project-centric model of execution to a product-centric model. In this chapter, we will explore the reasons behind this shift and how they apply to enterprise IT as well. In terms of the key themes laid out in Chapter 3, this chapter expands on chasing value instead of chasing predictability.
