Of all federal regulatory bodies concerned with advertising, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the widest jurisdiction. The Federal Communications Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Alcohol Tax Unit, the Post Office Department, and others, of which more will be said later, are restricted respectively to radio and television, stocks and securities, alcoholic beverages, and the mails.
