Abstract
One of the most important challenges for the use of solar energy is to make it economical. This can be achieved by reducing investment and operating costs and increasing the solar plant performance. Advanced control techniques can be very useful in fulfilling these objectives.
This chapter describes two examples of how advanced control techniques can help to optimize the operation of solar plants and, as in consequence, maximize the return of investment.
