6Defect Management
“Faster/random.” —The Zen-like and uninformative complete text of a bug report, observed by the author and some of his associates on one particular project.
The sixth chapter of the Advanced Test Analyst syllabus is concerned with defect management. This topic was introduced in the Foundation syllabus. A defect can exist in any work product, including requirements specifications, user stories, code, technical documentation, or tests. The Advanced Test Analyst syllabus expands on the discussion of defects in the Foundation syllabus, especially in terms of the type of information we can gather with defect reports. Chapter 6 of the Advanced Test Analyst syllabus has five sections.
