C. Ariel Pinto, Ph.D., is with the faculty of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University. He obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in industrial engineering from the University of the Philippines, and a Ph.D. in systems engineering with concentration in engineering risk analysis from the University of Virginia. He worked in the areas of risk assessment, analysis, modeling, and management while at the Center for Risk Management of Engineering Systems at the University of Virginia, and at the Software Industry Center at Carnegie Mellon University.
