Novel Power Generating Systems
Abstract
In this chapter, some novel power generating systems are discussed. It is believed that sustainable thermal energy sources such as industrial waste heat recovery, concentrated solar radiation, ocean thermal energy, nuclear heat, and biomass combustion will gradually become more important. The first part of the chapter presents a novel system for power conversion from low-grade heat. This is an advanced ammonia–water-based power cycle able to operate with minimal exergy destruction due to an excellent match of temperature profiles at the heat source and sink.
