Considerations for PowerPoint Templates
When creating PowerPoint templates, consider the following.
PowerPoint templates (.potx or .potm files) are now similar to Word and Excel templates in that they should be used as content templates. Themes are now the better way to save design content, as discussed in Chapter 19.
Any formatting that should be global to all slides, or all slides that use a particular layout, should be set up on the applicable master or layout for consistency and ease of use. See Chapter 19 to learn about the relationship between Themes, masters, and layouts.
