HDR Video Tone Mapping

A straightforward approach for tone mapping HDR videos is to apply a TMO of choice to each frame of an input HDR video independently. However, this approach typically performs poorly because global and local statistics can abruptly change in a video sequence; e.g., a very bright object appearing in a subsequent frame as shown in Figure 5.1. This means that flickering artifacts occur, making watching the video unpleasant.
