Chapter 2. Creating an Application
When creating an Adobe AIR application, you have your choice of technologies and development tools. The three technology options are Ajax (HTML and JavaScript), Adobe Flex, and Adobe Flash. In this book I focus solely on programs based on Ajax. The list of development tools you could use is practically limitless. In this chapter I go through the steps for creating an AIR application using any text editor and Adobe’s AIR SDK (Software Development Kit). In the next chapter I show you how to use the Dreamweaver CS3 and Aptana Studio Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) instead.
