Resource discovery over the Internet has been a popular topic in the past. With the explosion in the amount of information available on the Internet, it is important to have tools to assist us to locate or search for the information we want (to an acceptable degree of accuracy and detail) quickly. Several search engines have evolved (such as www.altavista.com, www.yahoo.com, and www.excite.com) to provide such facilities.
