Field Recording for Games

Any game sound designer will tell you that in the course of creating, you’re going to eventually have to get your hands dirty and suffer a little for your art. Now, I wouldn’t look at this as a bad thing, actually quite the opposite. These opportunities for adventure are where the great war stories come from that really make this part of what we do the envy of the nonaudio folks. I mean, where else do you have the excuse to spend the day pointing microphones at exotic cars, ­military ­vehicles, weapons, explosives, aircraft, boats, animals, and other cool noise-­making objects all in the name of great game making?
