4 Digidesign Virtual Instruments
Digidesign has followed the trend toward ‘virtual instruments’ by making its SampleCell sample playback device available as a software plug-in for Pro Tools TDM systems. This chapter contains a detailed review of the software.
The hardware version, SampleCell II Plus, is still available (priced at $1295), in the form of a PCI card containing DSP chips and RAM.
