No book is ever produced without the encouragement, help, and support of many individuals. In this case, the ideas and content for this book grew out of a new course that was introduced to the students of Northeastern University in the 2010. In many ways, the first class was part of our experiment in how to teach the principles and practices of sustainability in the business environment to students of business. Some ideas worked; others needed to be reworked until we felt we had the right mix of theory, critical thinking topics, applications, and case studies.
