In 1966, the Chicago Daily News hired a new Director of Photography named Chuck Scott. Those of us working at its sister paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, watched as this photo guru transformed its photography department. Almost immediately, Chuck hired several photographers; all out-of-towners who changed the paradigm of photojournalism in Chicago.
