CHAPTER 2

Chromatic Music by Bruno Ginanni Corradini (1912)*

I ONLY WANT TO SET forth some facts. Nothing else. So, don’t expect any attempt at elegance in my writing.

Should I succeed in making myself clearly understood, then I shall have achieved my purpose. I am writing this essay only to prepare the audience that will devote itself to fully appreciating and calmly judging the symphonies of colour which we will perform, I hope quite soon, before crowds in theatres. I wrote “we”, meaning my brother and me, for it is only thanks to my brother, who is an accomplished painter, that the practical translation of this art vision (to which I can only offer my theoretical and intuitive contribution) can be made possible.
