I can recall many years ago being taken under the wing of older, more seasoned actors. They were all wonderfully kind and they loved, in their own way, to talk about their craft. What this would lead to – thank goodness – was their putting me wise to the world of acting and show business, often passing along a few pearls of wisdom, ‘notes,’ to help my fledgling performance. One of the first such notes I can remember is “Act on the line.” I share this little ‘gem’ with my students to this very day.
