The Records Life Cycle

In the context of libraries, the records management life cycle refers to the process of managing the creation, use, retention, and disposal of records. The life cycle includes seven phases: creation and capture, collaboration and use, taxonomy and classification, version control and management, retention and archiving, preservation and hold, and disposition and destruction.
