Chapter 7. Host Integration Objects 211
7.4.3 Add Recognition Criterion to Screen Definition
After you define the screen, you have to choose the criterion to recognize the
screen. These criterion determines how the Integration Object will know when
the host connection reaches the correct screen. Select one of the following:
Text area
Figure 7-8 Host Access Studio: selecting Text area recognition
Select this option if there is specific text that identifies this screen. When you
select this option and click Next (see Figure 7-8 on page 211), you are asked for
more information about the text in the Text Area Recognition panel, as shown in
Figure 7-9 on page 212. This is the recommended way to recognize screens.
Use this panel to define text areas that you want your Integration Object to
recognize.

Figure 7-9 Text Area Recognition
To define a text area, you can either use your mouse to draw a box around the
text to look for on the connection screen (see Figure 7-9 on page 212), or type
the characters and keywords to recognize in the Text field.
Next, you need to specify where you want Host Publisher to look for the text in
the Text Position Options.
Text anywhere on the screen
This text can appear anywhere, not just in this location.

At the specified location
Host Publisher should not recognize this screen unless the text you
highlighted appears in the row and column specified. When you select this
choice, Host Publisher lists the current row (number of lines from the top of
the screen) and column (number of spaces from the left of the screen), but
you can change the values.
If you want, you can specify more details of your recognition in the Options field:
selecting whether or not Host Publisher should match the criteria you have
chosen before, if it must consider case sensitivity, or whether or not these
selections are optional.
Click Next to continue.
Click Back to change the criteria for the screen recognition.

Number of fields
Figure 7-10 Host Access Studio: selecting Number of fields recognition

in) on this screen. When you select this option and click Next (see Figure 7-10 on
page 214), you are asked for more information about the number of fields in the
Number of Fields Recognition panel, as shown in Figure 7-11 on page 215.
Use this panel to define the fields you want your Integration Object to recognize.
Chapter 7. Host Integration Objects 215
Figure 7-11 Number of Fields Recognition
Host Publisher counts the number of input fields and the number of total fields for
you (see Figure 7-11), but you can change these numbers.
If you want, you can specify more details of your recognition in the Options field:
selecting whether or not Host Publisher should match the criteria you have
chosen before, or whether or not these criteria are optional.
Click Next to continue.
Click Back to change the criteria for the screen recognition.
