Chapter 8. Windows Station Security
Many people have computers that use Windows, especially when it comes to company laptops. This chapter is a brief description of the basic steps to secure a Windows computer using a wireless connection.
Windows Client Setup
All wireless cards come with Windows drivers; getting a wireless card functioning under Windows usually involves little more than installing the supplied drivers. It is probably a good idea to download the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s web site, along with any firmware revisions for the card. Configure the network settings for the card in the Network Properties control panel, and use either DHCP or the IP, netmask, etc. that you have decided upon.
