POTTER JANE KAUFMANN
Jane Kaufmann is a New Hampshire state treasure. She is a beloved artist who has worked in her studio for forty years making raku sculptures from tiny finger puppets to large-scale carved pedestals with huge figures on top. I am thrilled to share this visit we had at her studio.
What can you tell us about your beginnings as a maker?
I took classes at the University of New Hampshire. When a secondhand kiln came on the market for $150, I bought it and started making clay things at home.
