In decision making, we always have to keep in mind that doing the right thing is our goal. We need to do it for everyone involved. We need to make the best decision that can be made. That decision needs to effectively and efficiently solve the problem, meet the challenge, or take advantage of the opportunity.

It needs to benefit as many people as possible and harm as few as possible.

And it needs to be accomplished in a reasonable and practical time frame.
