Animals

Animals come in many shapes and sizes, and they provide a variety of colors to experiment with your palettes and watercolor effects.

Supplies

• Watercolor paper (block or secured on board); I prefer either 8” x 10” or 9” x 12”
• Medium and small round brushes
• Small liner brush
• Watercolor paints
• Colors: red, yellow, blue, brown, and black (or Payne’s gray)
• Palette for mixing paints
• Plastic or rubber palette knife or spatula (optional)
• Spray bottle (optional)
• Jar of water
• Tissue or paper towels for cleanup

Start by sketching the head, tail, feet, and back. Keep the sketch loose and quick. Avoid too many details.
