World's Leading Photographers & Imaging Educators Meet in Santa Barbara, CA for Two-Day Conference

PhotoAct 2012

Santa Barbara, CA—April 13, 2012—Save the date: Rocky Nook, in partnership with c't Digital Photography magazine and SeenBy Fine Art, hosts Photoact 2012 Conference & Workshops, August 24-25, 2012. This is a premium event being held in picturesque Santa Barbara, CA, on the historical grounds of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

The event is aimed at presenting a balanced view of the wide world of contemporary photography and welcomes some of the world's leading photographers and educators to discuss the art, craft, and technology of their trade in an intimate gathering of fellow enthusiasts and practitioners.

After a decade of major advances in technology, we believe there is a need to shift the focus back to the artistic aspects of image creation, to the essence of seeing and personal expression, and to the fundamental precepts of photography as a craft.

Speakers and workshop leaders include: Bruce Barnbaum, Christian Bloch, Dan Burkholder, Greg Downing, J Henry Fair, Giovanni Gallucci, Eric Hanson, Gordon Lewis, Marc Muench, Ken Rockwell, Uwe Steinmuller, and Jorge de la Torriente.

This is a premium event with attendance limited to 125 participants.
