TiVo Hacks says that getting your TurboNet-enabled Series 1 TiVo online via Ethernet is as simple as setting your dialing prefix to ,#40 under Messages & Setup -> Recorder & Phone Setup -> Phone Connection -> Change Dialing Options.
In fact, the correct prefix is ,#401.
